Kazakh Delegation Explores Agricultural Cooperation During Visit to Turkmenistan

    A delegation from the Wholesale and Distribution Center (WDC) of Aktau, Mangystau Region, Kazakhstan, visited Turkmenistan to strengthen agricultural trade ties between the two countries, according to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan.

    The visit, organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aimed to establish strong business ties between Kazakh and Turkmen companies in the agro-industrial sector.

    The Kazakh delegation, represented by S. Kushmagambetov and R. Kismetov, held talks with leading Turkmen agro-industrial companies, Yigit, Mahmal and Miwe, which specialize in the cultivation, processing and storage of fruits and vegetables.

    Kazakh Ambassador to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogayev joined the visit and toured fruit and vegetable plantations. The delegation observed a wide variety of crops including apples, pears, persimmons, nectarines, plums, peaches, and almonds, as well as fields of tomatoes, onions and other vegetables.

    The parties agreed on seasonal exports of Turkmen produce to the Aktau WDC. Turkmen partners were invited to Kazakhstan to learn more about the center’s logistics and distribution systems.
