Five leading Dutch companies in the field of greenhouse farming, cooling systems and seed potato growing explored partnership opportunities with Turkmen agribusiness. The trade mission, organized by East West Trade & Consulting under the leadership of former Dutch Ambassador Pieter van Leeuwen, worked in Turkmenistan from December 2 to 6, a Dutch industry portal reported on Thursday.
The delegation included representatives of Agrotech Didam, Dalsem, Geerlofs, HZPC and Kubo.
With the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels, the delegation held a busy business program. Dutch specialists visited greenhouse complexes near Ashgabat, where they became familiar with the cultivation of tomatoes, strawberries and bananas. Particular attention was paid to cooling systems and potato farms.
During meetings with relevant ministries and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, specific areas of interaction were discussed. The mission participants received a comprehensive understanding of the country’s state agricultural policy and held a series of business meetings with potential partners.
Previously, a Turkmen delegation consisting of representatives of the private sector, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture took part in the international exhibition Green Tech Amsterdam 2024 in the Netherlands
