Turkmenistan and Malaysia are exploring opportunities for cooperation in the field of agriculture

    Malaysia and Turkmenistan will explore potential cooperation in the areas of agricultural technology, water management, research and development, and capacity building.

    The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) in a statement said the matter was discussed when Deputy Minister in charge of the matter, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, received a courtesy visit from Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Turkmenistan Tanryguly Atahalliyev.

    “Today’s meeting is the first meeting between the two countries in the agricultural sector. Datuk Arthur and Tanryguly Atahalliyev took this opportunity to exchange information on the structure and responsibilities of their ministries, as well as the latest developments in the agricultural sector of both countries.

    “Datuk Arthur said that Malaysia has various types of high-quality tropical fruits and invited Turkmenistan to consider introducing Malaysian tropical fruits into the Turkmen market,” the statement said.
